For the second time in less than four weeks, a Madison County jail inmate has broken his neck in a leap from a second-floor walkway.
Sheriff's Sgt. Paul Yox said the inmate, whose movements were caught on videotape, climbed a chest-high fence on the walkway and jumped off backward about 7 p.m. Saturday. He was taken to Huntsville Hospital for surgery to stabilize a broken neck.
