Sophomore outside linebacker Jon Demps has elected to have surgery on his injured knee and will be out for the season, Florida coach Urban Meyer said Saturday.

On Wednesday, Demps injured the same knee he had ACL surgery on early last season. Demps re-tore the ACL in a non-contact drill.

Meyer said Demps will redshirt this season and have three years of eligibility remaining.
