WESTERLY, R.I. -- Two Westerly police officers accused of assaulting a Connecticut man are scheduled to go on trial in federal court this morning.
William Maynes of Vernon, Connecticut, says officers Arthur Burton and James Campbell assaulted him during a traffic stop in 2003. The officers stopped him in Dunn's Corners and searched his car.
