While the focus remains on the impending and eagerly awaited permanent return of receiver Terrell Owens from injury, there is another Cowboy whose return is equally as important, and uncertain.

Left tackle Flozell Adams remains out since he was kicked in the left calf during the first quarter of a preseason game against New Orleans in Shreveport on Aug. 21.

"I wouldn't leap frog to that conclusion yet. Is it a possibility? Yeah, there is because he's not out there practicing," coach Bill Parcells said. "We're still [11] days from the opener. A lot can happen in that period of time, and hopefully some of it's going to be good."

Should Adams not be able to play, rookie Pat McQuistan appears to be the left tackle of choice. He will start Thursday in the preseason finale against Minnesota.

Parcells said he wants Vanderjagt to kick a couple of field goals in Thursday's preseason finale, and kick off once. He said the decision to kick off would be Vanderjagt's.

Davis missed Saturday's game against San Francisco after surgery to remove a bullet from his thigh. He returned to practice Monday and said he will play Thursday against Minnesota.

Green's roster status is up in the air because he will have to make the team as a return man. The fourth-round draft pick has returned eight punts for a 9-yard average in the preseason.

The Cowboys have asked fans who plan to attend Thursday's game to give themselves plenty of extra time to make the 7 p.m. kickoff. Parking gates 1 through 6, as well as Red, Cash and Bush parking, will open at 3 p.m. Stadium gates open at 5 p.m.
